What do we mean by protection?
Long-term care is the term used for someone who needs professional care every day. The need for such care may follow an event such as a stroke or be the result of frailty or an illness such as Alzheimer's.
Care may be in the individual's own home or it may be in a care home? a residential home that also offers nursing or personal care as well as accommodation. Many people's wellbeing and even their life expectancy actually goes up once they go into care and begin to take advantage of the benefits it can offer.
